The Kaupthing Isle of Man Scandal !
We have received a large number
of emails from Kaupthing IOM depositors and we believe that the
Government should guarantee their savings in the same way that they
have guaranteed the savings of depositors in other Icelandic banks. As
a fully registered political party we have access to Government
Ministers and Party Leaders and if you have savings with Kaupthing IOM
we shall be happy to lobby on your behalf. Obviously the more
depositors who contact us the more influence we shall have with
Government and politicians, so if you have not already contacted us
please send an email to:
kaupthingiom@seniorcitizensparty.org.uk
You may also telephone me on 0845 260 1215.
We are launching a Kaupthing IOM campaign to get justice for all
depositors wherever they may live and would therefore be most grateful
if you would tell anyone you know who may have been affected by the
collapse of the Kaupthing Isle of Man Bank and ask them in turn to
email me at:
kaupthingiom@seniorcitizensparty.org.uk
with their name and address, telephone number. If they are now living
abroad they should include their last address (including postcode) in
the UK to enable us to lobby their MP. Please also write to the editor
of your local newspaper and to the editor of any national Daily
Newspaper that you read. Tell the newspapers about your plight and ask
them to support the Kaupthing IOM Campaign and so ask any of their
readers who are affected to email me at:
kaupthingiom@seniorcitizensparty.org.uk
The more people contact us, the more chance we have of getting this
appalling injustice put right.

The great thing about the Internet is that it empowers individuals and groups to communicate and join together to achieve common aims. Seniors, just like anyone else, have the right to lobby their MPs both to express their views, and to say what they feel should be done to improve their quality of life. The Internet will you to make your voice heard much more effectively.
"Write to them" is a project of the registered charity,
MySociety.org, which makes it easy for you to contact your elected
representatives, Local Councillors, MP, MEPs (Members of the European
Parliament), and if you live in Scotland or Wales your MSP (Member of
the Scottish Parliament or MWA (Member of the Welsh Assembly).
All you have to do is to type in your postcode and you will
automatically see on screen the names of your District or Borough
Councillors, Your County Councillor, Your MP and Your MEPs. Just click
on the name of the representative you wish to write to, enter your
details on the right-hand side, and then type your message in the box
below. (You need to enter your details to confirm that you are writing
to your own elected representative, who is obliged to reply to you.)
When you have finished, press the "Preview your Message" button to
check your message and correct any typing errors you may possibly have
made, and finally click "Send".
It is a good idea to always start your message with: "As one of your
constituents I am extremely concerned about . . ." and always ask your
representative to do something specific, ie to say whether he will
support what you are asking for or not and how he will do so. If you
have entered an email address, ask your representative to reply to you
by email. This is much quicker and cheaper (and don't forget that you
as a taxpayer are paying for your representative's postage bill
(several thousand pounds a year in the case of MPs), and it also means
you can easily forward the reply to someone else, if you wish to.
We recommend that you always end your message with the phrase: "Your
reply may well influence my vote at the next election," to indicate
that you are serious about what you are asking your representative to
do. Make your views known as forcefully as possible. This will make
your representative think seriously about his or her response, as he or
she may well need your vote in order to win the next election.
Now just click on
Write to them to
compose and send your message.
