THINK OF THE 8000 KAUPTHING
VICTIMS !
We would like to wish all Seniors and indeed
everyone a very Merry Christmas but we are acutely aware of the fact that
for many people it will be anything other than “Merry”, those who have or
are likely to lose their jobs or to have their homes repossessed, and the
8000 people, nearly all pensioners or near pensioners, who, through no
fault of their own, have lost their life’s savings as the result of the
collapse of the Kaupthing Isle of Man Bank.
The Senior Citizens Party has promised to do
everything possible to help them get their money back, which we believe has
been lost due to the incompetence of Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling who
banned people working or living abroad from having a UK bank account in
which the Government guarantees their savings if the bank goes
bankrupt. All these people had
their UK bank accounts closed and were forced to place all their savings in
an off-shore bank. Most of them
wanted to stay with an English bank and were advised to put their money
into the Isle of Man Bank, which was subsequently acquired by the Icelandic
Kaupthing Bank. Please help us to
help them by renewing your subscription for 2009, and making a donation.
You can now do this via the Internet or by Direct Debit from our website
at: http://www.seniorcitizensparty.org.uk/ Please
forward this newsletter to your MP and to everyone you know in order the highlight
the plight of the Kaupthing victims and help someone less fortunate than
yourself this Christmas. Grahame
